No Refund Policy

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. By completing a purchase on this platform, you expressly acknowledge that you have read and agreed to this no-refund policy, which is a material term of your transaction.

Full Evaluation Report ($49): This product is a digitally delivered, instantly generated report. No refund, exchange, credit, or cancellation will be issued under any circumstances once payment has been processed, including but not limited to dissatisfaction with the report's content, conclusions, or recommendations.

Consulting Packages ($2,999–$14,999): Consulting package purchases are non-refundable in full. Payment constitutes your unconditional acceptance of this policy. No refund, partial refund, credit, or cancellation will be issued for any reason — including but not limited to a change of mind, change in application plans, failure to respond to onboarding communications, or dissatisfaction with adviser assignment — regardless of whether any services have been delivered at the time of the request. If you purchased using Klarna or another installment payment option, you remain obligated to complete all scheduled payments to Klarna regardless of any dispute with White Coat Advisers. Choosing an installment plan does not alter or waive this no-refund policy in any way.

Technical Errors: If you were charged but did not receive your report or order confirmation due to a documented technical failure on our platform (not user error, browser error, or issues with your email provider), contact us at hello@thewhitecoatadvisers.com within 7 days of purchase and we will investigate. This exception does not apply to consulting packages, which are confirmed by a separate email receipt from Stripe.

Chargebacks and Payment Disputes: You agree to contact us at hello@thewhitecoatadvisers.com before initiating any chargeback, dispute, or reversal with your card issuer or bank. If you initiate a chargeback without first contacting us, or if your chargeback is determined to be without merit, we reserve the right to: (a) immediately suspend or permanently revoke your access to any purchased services; (b) submit evidence of purchase, delivery, and your acceptance of this policy to the payment processor in connection with any dispute proceeding; and (c) pursue collection of any unlawfully reversed amounts, including through legal action if warranted. Initiating a fraudulent chargeback for services delivered may constitute fraud under applicable law.

Payment Security

All payment card data submitted on this platform is processed directly by our payment processors — Square (for Full Evaluation Reports) and Stripe (for consulting packages). We do not receive, transmit, or store your full card number, CVV, or expiration date on our servers at any point.

Both Square and Stripe are certified at PCI-DSS Level 1, the highest level of payment security certification available. Card tokenization occurs entirely within their secure environments before any data reaches our systems.

Klarna: Consulting packages may be purchased using Klarna's installment payment plans, available through Stripe Checkout. If you choose to pay via Klarna, your payment and financing arrangement are governed by Klarna's terms of service and privacy policy. White Coat Advisers receives the full consulting fee from Klarna at the time of purchase regardless of your installment schedule with Klarna.

By completing a payment, you acknowledge that your payment information is governed by the terms and privacy policies of the applicable payment processor.

Not Medical, Legal, or Career Advice

The information, scores, and recommendations provided by White Coat Advisers are for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on this platform constitutes medical advice, legal advice, or a guarantee of any particular outcome in the residency application process.

Our reports are analytical tools intended to help you understand how your profile may be evaluated — they are not a substitute for guidance from your medical school, a licensed career counselor, or other qualified advisers. We make no representation that following any recommendation on this platform will result in residency interviews, a match, or any other specific outcome.

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Reports and analyses on this platform are generated using artificial intelligence. While we have designed our system to reflect published match benchmarks, specialty trends, and admissions patterns, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information.

Program names, match statistics, and signal allocation rules are based on publicly available data at the time of development and may not reflect the most current application cycle. You should independently verify any specific claims before relying on them in your application strategy.

The AI used on this platform is not a licensed physician, career counselor, or adviser of any kind. Its output does not create a professional, fiduciary, or advisery relationship between you and White Coat Advisers. No communication through this platform — including any generated report — constitutes professional advice.

No Warranty

This platform and all content, reports, and recommendations are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. White Coat Advisers does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, White Coat Advisers and its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this platform or reliance on any report or recommendation generated herein — including, without limitation, damages related to residency application outcomes.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of this platform shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific report giving rise to the claim.

Privacy & Data Handling

When you submit a form on this platform — including the Free Specialty Score tool, the Full Evaluation Report, the consulting application, or the contact form — the information you provide is transmitted to our servers for processing. This includes your name, email address, and the profile data you enter. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

Your data is processed by the following third-party services in order to deliver our services:

Anthropic (Claude AI): Profile data you enter is processed through our proprietary scoring methodology and sent to Anthropic's API to generate your score, risk profile, program strategy, and analysis. Our algorithm — including the scoring weights, specialty benchmarks, and evaluation framework — is embedded in this process and is not visible to or replicable by end users. Anthropic's privacy policy governs how they handle data submitted through their API.

Square (Full Report payments): When you purchase a Full Evaluation Report, your payment is processed by Square, Inc. Your name, email address, and payment card details are transmitted to Square's servers. We do not store your card number, CVV, or full payment details on our systems at any point. Square is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Square's privacy policy governs how they handle payment data.

Stripe (Consulting payments): When you purchase a consulting package, your payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. Your name, email address, and payment card details are transmitted to Stripe's servers. We do not store your card number, CVV, or full payment details on our systems at any point. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle payment data.

Google (Gmail / SMTP): Your email address and report content are transmitted via Google's SMTP servers in order to deliver your report and order confirmation to your inbox. This data is subject to Google's standard data handling terms.

Loops.so: If you provide an email address when submitting a free score or full report, your name and email are transmitted to Loops.so, an email marketing platform, so we can send you follow-up communications about our services. See "Email Communications" below for how to opt out.

We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. We do not knowingly retain raw form data on our own servers after your report has been generated and delivered.

Email Communications

By providing your email address when submitting a free score or full evaluation report, you consent to receive follow-up emails from White Coat Advisers related to your results and our services. These emails may include information about our full report, consulting packages, and other educational resources relevant to the residency application process.

You can opt out of these communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in any email we send, or by contacting us directly at hello@thewhitecoatadvisers.com. Opting out will not affect your ability to use our tools or receive the report you purchased.

Transactional emails — including your actual report delivery and order confirmations — are not marketing emails and cannot be opted out of, as they are necessary to fulfill your purchase.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. Continued use of the platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase or use any service on this platform. By accessing White Coat Advisers, you represent that you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18.

Intellectual Property

All content, methodology, scoring frameworks, and software underlying this platform are the exclusive intellectual property of White Coat Advisers. Your purchase of a report grants you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use that report for your own residency application purposes only.

You may not reproduce, redistribute, resell, publish, or otherwise share any report or portion thereof — in whole or in part — without our express written consent. The underlying methodology and AI systems remain the sole property of White Coat Advisers regardless of any output generated for you.

Consulting Services

Scope of Services: The deliverables included in your consulting package are those described on our Consulting page as of the date of your purchase. We reserve the right to update the Consulting page at any time, but your entitlement is fixed to the package description in effect at the time payment was processed. No verbal representations, email discussions, or pre-sale communications expand the scope of services beyond what is described in these terms and the applicable package description.

Client Obligations: You agree to: (a) provide accurate, complete, and truthful information about your application profile and background; (b) respond to adviser communications within a reasonable time, and in no event more than 14 calendar days; (c) participate in scheduled calls or meetings with reasonable notice; and (d) not engage in conduct that is abusive, threatening, or harassing toward any White Coat Advisers adviser or staff member.

Engagement Timeline: Consulting engagements are intended to be completed within the academic application cycle for which the package is purchased. White Coat Advisers will make reasonable efforts to deliver services within the timeline discussed during onboarding. We are not liable for delays caused by your failure to respond, provide materials, or schedule meetings in a timely manner.

Client Unresponsiveness: If you fail to respond to adviser communications for 30 or more consecutive calendar days without prior notice, White Coat Advisers reserves the right to consider the engagement voluntarily abandoned and to close your case without refund. We will make at least two documented attempts to contact you before doing so.

Adviser Assignment and Substitution: White Coat Advisers assigns advisers at its sole discretion. We reserve the right to substitute your assigned adviser with another qualified adviser of equivalent standing at any time, including mid-engagement. You will be notified promptly of any substitution. Adviser substitution does not affect the scope of services or entitle you to any refund or credit.

Accuracy of Submitted Information: The quality of consulting services depends on the accuracy of information you provide. You represent and warrant that all information submitted in connection with your consulting engagement — including your academic record, board scores, research history, and extracurricular activities — is true, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge. White Coat Advisers is not liable for consulting outcomes that result from inaccurate or incomplete information you provide.

Confidentiality: White Coat Advisers will treat your personal application materials as confidential and will not disclose them to third parties except as required to deliver services (e.g., internal adviser team) or as required by law. You agree not to publicly share, reproduce, or distribute specific adviser communications, written feedback, or proprietary guidance provided during your engagement without our written consent.

Right to Refuse or Terminate Service: White Coat Advisers reserves the right to refuse or terminate a consulting engagement, without refund, if you breach any of these terms, engage in abusive conduct, or provide materially false information in connection with your application or engagement.

The Access Commitment

White Coat Advisers operates a program called The Access Commitment, under which we provide one full consulting package at no cost for approximately every ten students who purchase a consulting package. Participation in this program is entirely at our discretion.

Submission of a request does not guarantee selection or entitle you to any service. Selection is based on financial need and individual circumstance as evaluated by our founders. We are under no obligation to respond to every request or to provide any minimum number of free packages in any given period.

Recipients of a complimentary consulting package receive the same scope of services as a paying client under the applicable package, subject to adviser availability. This program may be modified, paused, or discontinued at any time without notice.

Accuracy of Submitted Information

You represent and warrant that all information you submit to this platform — including but not limited to USMLE board scores, clerkship grades, research history, school type, and any other application data — is true, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge at the time of submission.

You acknowledge that the quality, relevance, and accuracy of any report or recommendation generated by this platform is directly dependent on the accuracy of the information you provide. White Coat Advisers does not independently verify any information you submit. If you provide false, incomplete, or misleading information, your report may be materially inaccurate, and White Coat Advisers shall bear no liability for any such inaccuracy or for any outcome — including application decisions or match results — that results from a report generated from inaccurate inputs.

By submitting a form on this platform, you certify that the information provided is your own and accurately reflects your academic and professional record.

Service Availability

White Coat Advisers does not guarantee that this platform will be available at any particular time or on a continuous basis. The platform may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, unplanned technical failures, third-party service outages, or other circumstances beyond our control.

We are not liable for any loss, inconvenience, or damage resulting from platform downtime or unavailability, including any inability to access a previously purchased report during a system outage. In the event of a documented platform failure that prevents delivery of a purchased Full Evaluation Report, our sole obligation is to re-generate and deliver the report once the platform is restored.

We reserve the right to discontinue, modify, or suspend any feature of this platform at any time without notice.

Acceptable Use

By accessing this platform, you agree not to:

(a) Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or scripts to access, query, or extract content from this platform;

(b) Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise derive the underlying scoring methodology, algorithms, prompts, or weighting systems used to generate reports;

(c) Reproduce, resell, sublicense, or distribute any report, score, or recommendation generated by this platform to any third party for commercial purposes;

(d) Submit false or fabricated profile data in order to test, manipulate, or circumvent the scoring system;

(e) Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of this platform, its servers, or any connected systems;

(f) Use this platform in any way that violates applicable federal, state, or local law.

Violation of any of the above may result in immediate termination of your access to the platform and forfeiture of any purchased services without refund. We reserve the right to report violations to appropriate authorities where warranted.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless White Coat Advisers and its founders, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of this platform, your violation of these terms, or your reliance on any report or recommendation generated herein.

EU Users & GDPR

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, the following applies to you under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The legal basis for processing any personal data you submit is performance of a contract (i.e., delivering the service you purchased) and our legitimate interest in improving our platform. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, please contact us at hello@thewhitecoatadvisers.com. We will respond within 30 days.

California Residents & CCPA

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you specific rights regarding your personal information.

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the purposes for which it is used, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared. You have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions. You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information — we do not sell personal information to third parties.

We do not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

To exercise your rights under the CCPA, please contact us at hello@thewhitecoatadvisers.com. We will respond within 45 days as required by law. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf.

Categories of personal information we collect: identifiers (name, email address), professional or education-related information (medical school, year, target specialty), and inferences drawn from that information to generate your report. We collect this information directly from you when you submit a form on our platform.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of this platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the United States, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.

Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

These terms, together with any purchase confirmation you receive, constitute the entire agreement between you and White Coat Advisers with respect to your use of this platform and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
